kemper: Press

KEMPER Restless Fury . In one straight shot, Relentless Fury = a substandard reproduction of Danzig as played by a pretty on-the-money, Danzig sounding guy who probably denies being directly influenced by the leather in lambchops crooner. This is total Danzig, replete with the John Christ-ish squeals and doubled up choruses. The extensive ten-songer was fully written, performed, recorded and produced by one John Kemper (the band also his last name) and for that I'll give the dude credit, as it's not a bad one man recording. The overall album is a commendable effort for Kemper doing it all by his lonesome. This is something you should snag and have blend right in with the lost Lucifuge tape or some shit like that. Holy Twist of Cain, dude even looks like the "Evil Elvis."

The KEMPER Restless Fury album is a very good album. It very much has a Danzig sound to it. John Kemper does all the vocals, songwriting and instrumentation on this album. "Serpent Kiss" has a great tribal percussion vibe. "Diabolical" is dark with a bluesy vibe. "Death Walks Again" is very black with great bass. "Angelwolf" is doom-laced. "Bloodchill" rocks with intensity. "Nocturnal Bliss" is a very atmospheric instrumental.
